Client Reviews

RH

Richard H.

Bangkok, retired

"I had received a letter from the pension authority that I found completely incomprehensible. The documentary review at Bodhi Legal produced a note that explained, in plain language, exactly what the letter meant and what my contribution record actually showed. My daughter read it with me and we both left the meeting with a clear picture of where things stood."

Margaret T.

Chiang Mai, retired

"My pension payments were reduced without any explanation I could follow. The reinstatement support covered everything — they compiled all the documents, wrote the formal request, and dealt directly with the pension office so I didn't have to. The process took a few months longer than I had hoped, but at each point I knew what was happening and why. The payments were restored."

DL

David L.

Bangkok, former civil servant

"I went into the tribunal feeling properly prepared. The written briefing I received beforehand described exactly how the hearing would proceed and what arguments would be put. After the decision, I received a note explaining the outcome and the options still open. The representation was composed and professional. I was glad to have had Bodhi Legal in the room."

SK

Siriporn K.

Bangkok, retired teacher

"My English is not perfect and I was worried about understanding the documents. The team arranged interpretation and made sure everything was clear in Thai before I was asked to consider anything. The written summary I received was translated for me as well. I felt I was being treated with patience and proper respect."

AP

Alain P.

Bangkok, retired engineer

"The reinstatement matter took longer than the initial estimate because the authority requested additional documents partway through the review. This was communicated to me promptly and clearly, with an explanation of why the delay had occurred. I would have preferred a shorter process but understood the circumstances. The fee remained as agreed — there were no additions."

EW

Eleanor W.

Pattaya, retired

"I contacted Bodhi Legal after being told by another firm that my matter was too straightforward to need formal representation. The documentary review here identified two contribution periods that had been completely absent from my eligibility record. The written report gave me — for the first time — a clear picture of what I was actually entitled to."

Case Studies

Three accounts presented in their full context — challenge, process, and outcome. Names and identifying details have been adjusted with the clients' agreement.

Case Study 01 — Eligibility Assessment

Challenge

A retired British national living in Bangkok had worked across three countries during his career. His UK pension records appeared to exclude a four-year period of employment in Thailand. He had received a letter from the pension authority but could not interpret whether it confirmed or denied this omission.

What We Did

We conducted a documentary review across employment records from all three countries and produced a written eligibility timeline covering his full contribution history. The timeline identified the four-year Thai employment period as correctly eligible for credit and explained the basis for this in plain language.

Outcome

The client used the assessment document to support a formal submission to the pension authority. The missing contribution period was subsequently recognised and his entitlement adjusted accordingly. Timeline: assessment completed within 3 weeks of receiving documents.

"The document was clear enough that I could hand it directly to the pension authority and they understood what we were showing them."

Case Study 02 — Reinstatement Support

Challenge

A retired French national received notice that her pension payments had been suspended pending a review of her residency status in Thailand. The notice did not specify what documentation was required, and her initial enquiries to the authority had not produced a clear answer after six weeks.

What We Did

We compiled a full documentation bundle addressing the residency question, drafted a formal reinstatement request, and managed all subsequent correspondence with the pension authority over a period of approximately eleven weeks until a decision was issued.

Outcome

Payments were reinstated in full, and the authority issued no additional conditions. The client received a written explanation of the decision and a note confirming that no further action was required on her part.

"I did not have to write a single letter myself. Everything was managed, and I was told what was happening at each step."

Case Study 03 — Tribunal Representation

Challenge

A retired Thai national disputed a decision by his pension authority that reduced his entitlement based on a period of self-employment the authority claimed was not eligible for contribution credit. The matter had not been resolved through correspondence and had been referred to a formal administrative tribunal.

What We Did

We prepared a complete evidence bundle including self-employment records and relevant legislative references, drafted written submissions for the tribunal, briefed the client in advance on the hearing structure, and represented him directly at the hearing.

Outcome

The tribunal ruled in the client's favour. The contribution period in question was recognised as eligible. A written post-decision note was provided to the client explaining the ruling and confirming that no further proceedings were required.

"I understood what was happening in the hearing because I had been briefed on it beforehand. That made a significant difference to how I felt about the process."
